Microsoft recently released an updated version of Bing search, which is now supported by ChatGPT, a chat platform that has attracted a lot of interest from Silicon Valley research company OpenAI. The rise of ChatGPT shocked the technology world as the AI-powered bot demonstrated human-like conversational skills. The technology has shown to be able to write emails, scripts and program codes, leading to concerns that it could replace people who work more efficiently.

According to Microsoft's blog, artificial intelligence features helped Bing reach more than 100 million users every day last month. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced the launch of the new AI-powered search engine, saying that the new advancement "will change every form of software we know", including search, as a new innovation in personal computing and the cloud.

In addition to adding to Bing, Microsoft is integrating chatbot technology into its Edge browser.

Pichai has shown that he welcomes competition. In response to pressure from his rival, Pichai earlier this year introduced a trial of Bard chatbot intelligence, a controversial new service available only to a group of "trusted researchers" until its global release after a year.

According to Pichai, Bard seeks to "combine the breadth of knowledge about the world with the power, intelligence and creativity of our great language."

"It uses information from the Internet to provide innovative and advanced solutions," Pichai said.
Google and other tech companies are in the midst of a transformation that includes spending cuts and job cuts due to the economic tailwind. He also announced cuts to employee benefits, including the closing of "micro bars" with free wine and food. Google will reduce its spending on corporate laptops and other hardware.
