The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) mission was launched on June 25, 2015, and aims to provide housing for all in urban areas by 2022. The mission provides central assistance to implementing agencies across the states / federal territories (UTs) and Central Nodal Agencies (CNA) to provide Homes for all eligible families/beneficiaries against the approved demand for homes of approximately 1.12 cr. According to the PMAY (U) guidelines, the size of the house allocated for the EWS could be up to 30 sq. mt. carpet area, but states / UT have the flexibility to enhance the size of the houses with the consultation and approval of the ministry.

Under this government scheme, people in the weakest parts of the country can build the house of their dreams in urban or rural areas. Under this scheme, first-time home buyers receive the benefit of the Credit Linked Support System (CLSS).
Credit linked subsidy scheme means that home buyers get relief on the mortgage loan interest. The central government has extended Prime Minister Awas Yojana's credit-related subsidy scheme under the PM Awas Yojana till March 31, 2021. This will benefit more than 2.50,000 middle-class families. It is a scheme sponsored by the central government, launched on June 25, 2015.
The Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council has started booking for houses of 3,516 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 19 cities across the state from Tuesday i.e. September 1. People will be able to book it from September 1. This house will be provided to the poor with only Rs 3.50 lakh. Under this, a total of 3,516 homes will be reserved. The reservation started in Lucknow for a maximum of 816 homes. Under this scheme, people who want to buy a house can submit their application online until October 15.
According to the reservation initiated for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by the Uttar Pradesh State Housing Development Board, only those with an annual income of less than Rs 3 lakh will be granted housing. Homes for the states poor will be available for just Rs 3.50,000. They will have to repay this amount within 3 years. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Board made a proposal to deliver homes in 5-year installments, but it was reduced to 3 years. Under this scheme, the area of carpet in the house for the poor will be 22.77 sqm and the super area will be 34.07 sqm.
Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the maximum number of people will be allocated to households in Uttar Pradesh, the capital of Lucknow. The maximum reserve will be 816 homes in Lucknow. Apart from this, 624 houses will be reserved in Ghaziabad, 480 in Jagriti Vihar in Meerut, and 396 in Gonda. Registration will be done for 96-96 houses in Mainpuri, Fatehpur, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, and Meerut in the state. Apart from these bookings will be made for 48-48 households in Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Unnao, Bahraich, Mau, Balrampur, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Unnao, Bahraich, Mau, Balrampur, and Barabanki.
