Pfizer has established a global drug development unit in the IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as part of a major attempt to bring vital research and development capabilities under one roof.

The abilities of the centre will include the advancement of both active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms (FDFs) for specific products like complex/value-added formulations, controlled-release dosage forms, device-combination product lines, lyophilized injections, powder-fill products, and ready-to-use formulas.
