New Delhi: Global chipmaker Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 750G 5G mobile platform that enables global connectivity to 5G networks with HDR gaming and on-device AI.
The Snapdragon 750G offers select Qualcomm Elite Gaming features to enable smooth, low-latency gameplay for richer entertainment quality.
"As we continue to build this relatively new layer of the mobile roadmap, we are always looking for ways to support the growing needs of our OEM customers. The Snapdragon 750G offers a selection of premium mobile features for a wider audience," said Kedar Kondap, vice president of product management, Qualcomm Technologies, in a statement late on Tuesday.
Powered by Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPUs, Snapdragon 750G aims to enable up to 10 percent better graphics reproduction compared to Snapdragon 730G for impressive and realistic images.
Other features that Qualcomm mentioned are smart camera, video operations, voice translation, advanced AI-based imaging, and AI-enhanced gaming experiences, all of which will be powered by the next-generation Qualcomm AI Engine.
With up to 4.0 trillion operations per second (TOPS), the Qualcomm AI Engine claims to offer a 20 percent improvement over the Snapdragon 730G, and it also features a Qualcomm Kryo 570 processor, which saves up to 20 percent compared to the Snapdragon 730G.
The Snapdragon 750G is also equipped with the always-on Qualcomm Sensing Hub, which combines multiple data streams for contextual use cases - Qualcomm AI's low-power echo cancellation engine enables background noise suppression to deliver Enhanced voice chat game experiences, 24/7 voice communication, and support for always-on voice assistants.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G is expected to appear on devices in late 2020. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be the first smartphone to be launched based on the Snapdragon 750G.
