Meta AI launches in India on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram

Meta introduced its new advanced AI assistant, Meta AI, powered by Meta Llama 3, in India on Monday. The most recent version of Meta AI, available in more than twelve countries, introduces a range of smart, quick, and easy-to-use features to apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram.

Meta AI is currently accessible only in English and assists users with a range of activities, such as organizing events and learning new concepts, as well as decorating. For instance, you could inquire about suggestions for dining, advice for traveling, or assistance with homework. When transitioning to a new apartment, Meta AI can generate mood boards featuring design concepts.

Introduced at Meta Connect event last year, it began testing with select users in April.

Similar to other AI chatbots, Meta AI function by responding to direct inquiries on the Meta Platforms. Ask a question and receive a response. Nonetheless, it exclusively functions on Meta Platforms.

One notable aspect of Meta AI is its Imagine tool which enhances creativity. Users have the ability to create and distribute images just by utilizing the "imagine" command. This function helps in making personalized invites, fun graphics, and animating beloved photos. Users have the ability to work together to improve images by changing the directions given.

Last week, Google introduced its AI chatbot Gemini in India, taking over Google Assistant on smartphones. In addition to Meta AI, it is also accessible in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
