Google launches Gemini mobile app in India, available in 9 languages

On Tuesday, Google, a major tech company based in the US, launched their Gemini AI assistant app in India. The Gemini app and Gemini Advanced will now be available in nine Indian languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, providing access to Google's AI models.

Furthermore, we plan to integrate these local accents into Gemini Advanced, along with new features, and launch Gemini on Google Messages in English.

The latest updates in Gemini Advanced now offer enhanced data analysis functions and the option to upload files. Additionally, users can now communicate with Gemini through Google Messages, initially in English.

The application enables you to receive help by typing, speaking, or uploading a picture. One way to use this is to photograph a punctured tire for guidance on how to replace it. Gemini access will gradually become available on iOS through the Google app in the upcoming weeks.

In a blog post, Amar Subramanya, who is the vice president of engineering at Gemini experiences, mentioned that Gemini had an eventful first year in India. We have been excited to observe the various ways people all over the country are using it to work with AI, whether for academics, programming, or artistic experimentation. From students to developers and various other curious individuals, individuals in India are adopting Gemini's features to improve their efficiency, education, and innovation in their daily routines.

Whether you want to organize a game night, cook a recipe with certain ingredients, or come up with a social media caption, you can easily do so with Gemini on the move.

To use Gemini on an Android device, one can either download the Gemini app or enable it through Google Assistant. Gemini can be accessed by swiping the corner, pressing the power button on specific phones, or using the voice command "Hey Google."

This allows for a fresh overlay experience with convenient access to Gemini and contextual assistance displayed on the screen. Several voice capabilities on Google Assistant will be accessible through the Gemini app, such as setting timers, making calls, and setting reminders.

Google is introducing Gemini 1.5 Pro, its most advanced version, to Gemini Advanced in the nine Indian languages mentioned above.

Gemini Advanced now offers the longest context among all widely accessible consumer chatbots worldwide, with a context window of one million tokens. This enables the system to analyze and comprehend large quantities of data, including lengthy documents (up to 1,500 pages), emails, hours of video, and complex codebases in the coming years.

The increased capability enables additional functionalities for Gemini Advanced, like the ability to upload documents. It is possible to upload numerous lengthy documents, with a combined total of 1,500 pages, or condense 100 emails.

Gemini Advanced is able to offer rapid summaries, customized feedback, and useful insights, thus saving time and enhancing productivity. One can now easily obtain information and understanding from complex documents, such as understanding the pet policy in a lease agreement or comparing main points in various lengthy research papers.

Complex data analysis tasks can also be addressed by uploading spreadsheets (Google Sheets, CSVs, Excel).

Gemini Advanced is capable of cleaning, exploring, analyzing, and visualizing data, converting it into interactive charts and graphs. Gemini Advanced can serve as a personal data analyst, discovering insights and creating custom visualizations in real-time, whether it's analyzing spending patterns or calculating the average total sales of a small business.

Gemini maintains the privacy of files and does not utilize them for training its models.

Google is adding Gemini to Google Messages for an additional method of partnering with Gemini via phone. Assistance with drafting messages, coming up with ideas, and organizing events is available within the Messages app itself. Gemini will be gradually rolling out in Google Messages in English, starting with certain devices.
