Instagram has announced that it will be testing the Candid Stories feature, which will allow people to capture and share anything they do in a Story. However, this will only be visible to those who will share their hidden stories. The feature appears to be a version of the BeReal app concept.
Instagram has become an app where people try to share perfect photos or short videos with filters, but the platform seems to want people to be more real. Thus, it adds a feature inspired by the BeReal app. The company confirmed that it is also testing a similar feature in Facebook Stories.
Instagram is also adding a new feature for group profiles. With this, people will be able to create and join this new type of profile to share posts and stories on a personalized shared profile with friends. To create a new group profile, simply click on the '+' icon and select Group Profiles.
According to a blog post on Instagram, when you publish content to a group profile, it is put to the group profile rather than your own and is only visible to other members of the group.
The Notes feature, a new method to share your thoughts and discover what your friends are up to, will also soon be available on Instagram. In simpler terms, notes are short posts of up to 60 characters that use only text and emoji. One can easily leave a note by going to the top of the inbox, selecting the followers you follow or people on your close friends list. Once this is done, your note will appear at the top of your inbox for 24 hours. The company says that all responses to the notes will arrive as direct messages to your inbox.
