PM Kisan is a central-sector initiative fully funded by the Government of India. Under the scheme, eligible farmers will receive Rs 6,000 per annum which will be distributed in installments of Rs 2,000 every four months.
Prime Minister Modi launched Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in 2018, and many eligible people have benefited so far. On January 1, 2022, the beneficiaries received the 10th batch under the PM Kisan scheme. The fees were deposited directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts.
According to the PM Kisan website, one must update their eKYC to receive batch 11. “eKYC is mandatory for farmers registered with PM KISAN. Please click the eKYC option in Farmer Corner for Aadhar-based OTP authentication and for biometric authentication, contact your nearest CSC.”
When are the instalments paid?
As per the PM Kisan FAQ available on their website, “How many times will the benefit be given in a year? Under the PM-Kisan scheme, all the landowning farm families will get financial benefit of Rs 6000 per year for each family paying in three equal installments of 200 Rs/- every four months. The duration of the first payment under the system is from 12.01.2018 to 03.31.2019, the duration of the second payment is from 04.01.2019 to 07.31.2019, the duration of the third payment is from 08.01.2019 to 11.30.2019, etc.
Instalment amount paid out so far
Usually, the first period is between April and July, the second period is between August and November, and the third period falls between December and March. Now, the government can at any time announce the eleventh installment and release the funds in the first week of April, according to press reports.
The benefits are available to all farming families who own land under this program. According to government standards, a land-owning agricultural family consists of a husband, wife and minor children who own agricultural land in accordance to the surveyor of the appropriate State or Union Territory.
