Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 14th edition of Aero India, Asia's largest air show, in Bangalore on February 13.
The five-day airshow themed "Runway of a Billion Opportunities" will focus on showcasing local technologies and tools and forging partnerships with international companies. The air show will have the participation of more than 80 countries.
Furthermore, 2023 ministers from around 30 countries and 65 CEOs of global and Indian OEMs are likely to participate in Aero India.
The event will also see the participation of more than 800 defense companies, including some 100 foreign companies and 700 Indian companies. Participating Indian companies include MSMEs and startups, which will showcase the advancement of niche technologies and the growth of the country's defense and aerospace capabilities.
Aero India 2023 was intended to be a significant event, but it has evolved into something much more significant, according to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. With participants from around 100 friendly countries and 800 exhibitors, this Aero Show is the biggest so far." Sunday.
He added that the goal is to create a world-class and vibrant national defense industry so that the country can achieve the goal of defense self-sufficiency as well as the nation's overall development, the ANI news agency reported. He said that this event will also help us further on this path.
February 13 to 15 will be business days, while February 16 and 17 are set as public days so that people can attend the event.
Major exhibitors include Airbus, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Israel Aircraft Industry, Brahmos Aerospace, Army Aviation, HC Robotics, SAAB, Safran, Rolls Royce, Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Forge Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and BEML Limited.
Around 5 lakh visitors are expected to attend the event physically and millions more will go online.
The event aims to promote the export of national aerial platforms such as Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) -Tejas, HTT-40, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).
