Model Economic Township Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), said on Thursday that it is developing Greenfield Smart City near Gurugram and announced the signing of a definitive agreement with Hamdard Group to establish a world-class manufacturing facility in the town.
According to an official release, Hamdard is developing the Hamdard Food Park (HFPC) manufacturing complex of some basic food categories on approximately 10 acres of land in MET City. They plan to spend around Rs 100 to 150 crore in the initial phase of development of their manufacturing facilities.
The project includes a honey processing plant and manufacturing facilities for similar products, a spice manufacturing plant for various pure, whole and blended spices under the 'Hamdard Khaalis' seasoning brand, and edible oil processing and packaging facilities for oils such as mustard oil and olive oil, rice bran oil, soybean oil, etc., processing and manufacturing facilities for vermicelli and similar products like soya chunks, beverage filling and packaging products such as dairy drinks, still juices and soft drinks.
Hamid Ahmed, chief executive of Hamdard Foods, said the company chose Reliance MET City, Jhajjar, Haryana to develop its manufacturing facility over the next two years because it provided "not only a very good location to be within NCR, but also a place with first class industrial infrastructure”.
