Five points from Prime Minister Modi's speech, the highlight of which was Rs 20 lakh crore economic package

  1. Prime Minister Modi has made it clear that the world will have to move forward and accept the coronavirus as the new reality that will remain with us in the near future. The Prime Minister's comments may indicate that in the immediate next stage of the closure, there may be some relaxation for the general movement. While the rules of social distancing norms will remain in place, the green and orange zones are likely to breathe a sigh of relief, as the government has indicated in the recent past.

  2. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi said, " lockdown 4  will consist of different rules and will have a completely different 'look' altogether. "While he did not explain how it would be implemented, he added that information about it would be provided before May 18.

  3. The word "local" emerges as the most significant word, not only in terms of business and economic activities. "The way ahead lies in LOCAL. Local manufacturing. Local markets.Local supply chain. Not only local is a need, but a responsibility. Be vocal about local!" PM Modi said.

  1. Prime Minister Modi referred to the economy, infrastructure, technology-based system, vibrant demography, and demand as the five pillars that India will need to use to move towards 'self-reliance'.

  2. While stressing that the 21st century will belong to India, he said that the post-COVID-19 era would provide many opportunities and that India would rise to the occasion and take advantage of the opportunities ahead. Unlike the ongoing phases of lockdown, where the primary focus is on containing COVID-19 spread, the next phase of lockdown hopes for an economic revival as one of its main components.
