India celebrated its 72nd Independence Day. Like every year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort, his fifth speech after the BJP-led NDA came to power in 2014, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his last Independence Day address from the Red Fort, has made four big announcements. The four major announcements PM Modi made in his speech are here.

  2. New Agricultural Policy to be launched soon.
  3. Ayushman Bharat Healthcare Scheme on Sept 25
  4. Permanent commissioning of women in armed forces

Apart from these four major announcements, the highlights from his speech are here where he talks about India now today to be the land of reform, perform and transform.

PM Modi inspired by Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee said Kashmir problems cannot be resolved with bullets or abuses. He promotes ahimsa at the stage of Red Fort. He condemned rapes,  promises triple talaq bill and slammed opposition on triple talaq bill.

In his fifth and final Independence Day speech before 2019 general elections, focuses on achievements of his governments and said, "We can take tough decisions because nation's interest is first for us, not party's".

For the past three years, PM Modi has been inviting ideas and suggestions directly from people. According to MyGov.in, PM Modi picked up some of the ideas in his speech. For the 72nd Independence Day celebrations, the Navy had the coordinating service. The Guard of Honour was be commanded by Commander PR Jagan Mohan of the Indian Navy.
