Microsoft Corp Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Satya Nadella has been attempting the new India cloud partnership with Reliance Industries.

As he has shared the center-stage with their chairman, Mr. MukeshAmbani at an event held in the financial capital of India on Monday, 24th February 2020.

Microsoft has got into a 10-year deal with Reliance in the year 2019 with the commitment to power the Reliance conglomerate’s data centers with the Azure cloud.

Mr. Nadella said in a statement, “We have been working with Reliance for the entire stack including everything that they will be going to do with Azure in their own data centers and how they extend it,” in Mumbai. He further added, “It is a sort of the perfect example of a business leader and a brand that are players in completely diverse sectors to take an approach together, to use technology so that they are able to create more technology.” The officials have not provided us with any specific details about their plans for growth.

Mr. Ambani said in a statement, “We are very excited about Jio and Microsoft's partnership that will happen and I think that will be, as we look at this decade, a completely defining partnership." During a keynote speech, Nadella had put emphasis on the need for the current businesses to build their own technology during this time and age where digital services are transforming every industry and the homes. Nadella had just visited India just a few weeks after telling the press India’s new citizenship law has saddened him and it is “just bad”.

India’s Citizenship Amendment Act that has made a way for the minorities from the neighboring Muslim-majority countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh to gain citizenship in India has resulted in protests. The critics have even said that this law along with the proposed national register of citizens, is discriminative against the Muslim minority of India.
