Shah Rukh Khan’s production partners with Netflix on original series

Streaming giant Netflix has announced a new series called Bard of Blood in partnership with Shah Rukh Khan’s production house. Entertainment had earlier singed a multiyear deal with Netflix and is now set to create original content with Netflix. SRK will be working as a producer for the eight episode political espionage series ‘Bard of Blood’

Shah Rukh Khan spoke to the media and mentioned that they always aim to create world-glass content and entertainment from India and Netflix has shown that Indian stores have a global audience. With this platform, it is possible to reach out to tell more stories.

Reed Hastings, Founder of Netflix and CEO mentioned, “We believe in the global vision of Red Chillies in order to create groundbreaking content out of India. It is exciting to deepen the relationship with Red Chillies and expand the slate of originals in India.” He added that Netflix looked forward to work with a young writer like Bilal Siddiqi and take the inventive storytelling to the members of Netflix worldwide.

Venky Mysore, the CEO of Red Chillies mentioned that the team was delighted to extend their partnership to the Netflix Original series. The team at Red Chillies and Gaurav Verma has put together the series and they look forward to bring it to the screens across the world.

The series is set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent. The series is multilingual and will tell the story of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand who has been recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani in order to save his country and long lost love. The series show a combination of combat skills, personal circumstances and intellectual background which propel Kabir to avenge the past and face his enemies in a race against time.

The series will include highly stylized action sequences never before seen on the screens in the country. It will be shot on location and the characters will communicate in Hindi, English, Urdu and other languages. Netflix is already making original content for India including Saif Ali Khan’s Sacred Games, based on Vikram Chandra’s bestseller with the same name.
