Apple iPhone 15 series: Comparing prices in India with rates in USA, UK & Dubai

Apple iPhone 15 series has been launched in India and other global markets. The new Apple devices will be available for pre-order from September 15 and sales will start from September 22. This will be the first iPhone launch after Apple launched its official stores in Delhi and Mumbai. Buyers who want to go to stores to pick up their devices can expect long queues on the first day of the sale.

Features of the Apple iPhone 15

The Apple iPhone 15 has some major updates compared to last year. The most visible difference is the inclusion of a new Dynamic Island cut-out for the front-facing camera and Face ID. It's been carried over from last year's Pro models. This also introduces extra functionality built in with iOS 17. 

Apple also carried over the chipset from last year's Pro models. They have introduced the A16 Bionic chip in the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. In terms of the camera, there's a substantial hardware upgrade in the form of a new 48 MP lens, which is four times more than the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

India

iPhone 15: Comes in three storage options (128GB, 256GB, 512GB). These are priced at Rs 79,900, Rs 89,900, and Rs 1,09,000, respectively.

iPhone 15 Plus: Same three storage options. Priced at Rs 89,900, Rs 99,900, and Rs 1,19,000, respectively.

iPhone 15 Pro: Four storage configurations are offered (128GB, 256GB, 512 GB, 1TB). Rated at Rs 1,34,900 (128GB), Rs 1,44,900 (256GB), Rs 1,64,900 (512GB) and Rs 1,84,900.

iPhone 15 Pro Max: Has three storage configurations (256GB, 512GB, 1TB). Rated at Rs 1,59,900, Rs 1,79,900, and Rs 1,99,900, in that order.

United States

Here, the pricing of the iPhone 15 starts at USD 799 (approx. Rs 66,208), while that for the iPhone 15 Plus is USD 899 (approx. Rs 74,495). iPhones Pro and Pro Max, on the other hand, have a starting cost of USD 999 (around Rs 82,781) and USD 1,199 (around Rs 99,354).

Features of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max get a new titanium frame which was the highlight, even during the Apple event. The primary impact of the new material is that the Pro models are the lightest Apple has ever made. The choice of materials also enhances the structural rigidity of the phone.

Another significant hardware improvement is the new A17 Pro chipset, making the Pro models the first smartphones to launch with the advanced 3nm architecture. Apple claims that despite the performance improvements and additional features, battery life remains the same. The company claims that the Pro models can offer up to 29 hours of video playback time.

The camera sensors on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have been upgraded as well. Both models use a 48MP primary lens, but Apple claims the sensor is larger than the one used in the Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. This would increase the camera's capabilities in low light. The ultra-wide-angle lens can now also be used for macro photography.

Apple has also given the Pro Max models an added boost in the camera department. It gets a periscope lens that allows for 5x optical zoom compared to 3x on the iPhone 15 Pro and 2x on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
