The phone comes packed with a 6.28-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2280 pixels and a Super AMOLED Display with 19:9 aspect ratio, with an awfully high density of 402 Pixels per inch which is differentiable lower than 5cm away and graphics of ARM Mali G72 MP3 700MHz. The only backdrop of the X21i is that is does not have a notification LED on the display.
The Vivo X21i is charged by 2GHz octa-core processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The X21i packs internal memory of 64GB or 128GB that can be expanded up to 256GB via an independent microSD card slot which is not a common aspect in recent smartphones. A MediaTek Helio P60 16nm SoC chipset will be alongside the obvious choice of Android Oreo 8.1 software with options of 4GB or 6GB RAM to choose from. It also comes in handy with a Rear fingerprint sensor for better security.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Vivo has done a more than decent job in the photographic section. In fact, Vivo X21i comes with a dual 12MP and 5MP rear camera and boasts of a selfie camera with a high resolution of 24MP. It also features AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip with a superb sound quality.
The Vivo X21i is operational with Android version 8.1(Oreo) and is powered by a 3245mAh lithium battery which means you get a decent 108hrs of standby battery life. It measures 154.37 x 74.98 x 6.99 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 159 grams.
The X21i is a dual SIM smartphone that is compatible with Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM slots. Connectivity options in the X21i include 4G VoLTE, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, USB C and the 3.5mm audio jack. The phone includes multiple sensors with it like the Proximity sensor, the accelerometer, an ambient light sensor and a gyroscope.
The Vivo X21i is more or less indistinguishable in design and specifications from the X21 other than that of the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, the 4GB RAM option, increased 24MP front camera resolution, and slightly better battery capacity. Although the MediaTek P60 is an exceptional chipset, the price seems a bit farfetched compared to the other smartphones available in the market like OnePlus 5T/ Xiomi Mi6 etc. The same processors can be obtained at a much less price and the micro USB being offered with X21i is a big letdown.
Vivo X21i will be available for purchase starting from July 25th and is rumoured to come in the variety of three colors, namely Champagne, Rose gold and Polar Night Black. It is expected to be priced in the mid-segment section of budget smartphones.
