Sony launches world’s first wireless splash-proof headphones with noise cancellation in India

Sony recently unveiled a new lineup of audio products in the country in order to solidify its position in the growing personal audio segment. Since the market is moving towards wireless headphones, Sony has joined the bandwagon with six new wireless headphones and three Bluetooth speakers. The new range of products includes six models namely, WI-CH400, WI-C300, WI-CH500, WI-SP600N and WF-SP700N. The entire range of headphones come with NFC, Bluetooth connectivity and is optimized for use with a Google Assistant.

Out of the six models, SP700N is top of the line and is the world’s first wireless splash proof headphone with a noise cancellation feature. It has earbuds with active noise cancellation, Sony Extra Bass sound and support for Google Assistant and ambient noise. In addition, Sony has designed a smartphone app which is used for accessing the equalizer settings. The headphones have a battery life of three hours and come with an open charging case that extends the battery backup for up to 9 hours. This headphone is priced at INR 12,990.

Another model, WI-SP600N has a digital noise cancelling, 6 hour battery life and an IPX4 splash proof rating. It has the same features equipped into a different design and is priced at INR 9,990. WI-SP500 and WI-SP600N are sports headphones that come with earpieces that are connected by a neckband. WI-SP500 has a battery life of up to eight hours and WH-CH400 and WH-CH500 offers up to 20 hours of backup while WH-CH300 has an eight hour battery life. In addition to the sports range, Sony has launched an affordable wireless range which has a starting price of INR 2,990.

WI-CS300 is an in ear headphone with an in line remote and voice control for Siri and Google Assistant. It offers 8 hours of battery backup and is priced at INR 2,990. The WH-CH400 is an on ear headphone which comes with an in line mic for hands free calling and has 20 hours of battery backup, it is priced at INR 3,790. Lastly, WH-CH500 has a swivel design and same features as CH400; it is priced at INR 4,490.

Apart from the headphones, Sony has also launched three new wireless speakers including SRS-XB41, SRS-XB31 and SRS-XB21 which are dustproof and waterproof. The speakers can be used to connect three devices at a point of time and can be washed as well.  The wireless speakers can be paired with more than 100 speakers over Bluetooth for a wireless party chain. XB41 and XB31 can also be used as a power bank to charge the smartphone battery. SR-XB21 is priced at INR 7,990, SRS-XB31 is priced at INR 9,990 and SRS-XB41 is priced at INR 13,990
