Amazon announced on Tuesday that it will begin the most awaited Great Indian Festival from October 17. Amazon has yet to provide the end date for the Great Indian Festival sale. The Great Amazon Indian Festival sale begins one day after the Big Billion Days sale on Flipkart, which is set to begin on October 16 and ends on October 21.

Amazon sale will start 24 hours early, on October 16, for Prime members. Amazon has partnered with HDFC Bank to sell the Great Indian Festival, to offer customers an instant 10 percent discount on any purchase made through an HDFC credit or debit card.

Amazon claims that more than 1 lakh local shops and Kiranas have been enabled by Amazon to serve customers during the festive season.

"Customers can expect to launch more than 900 new products from top brands. They can shop for deals every day in a wide range of categories, including smartphones, large appliances, and televisions, consumer electronics, kitchen, and kitchen products, fashion, beauty, groceries, and more, " the Amazon release mentioned.

Customers can earn 10,000 daily shopping rewards, send gifts, and pay with Amazon Pay during the Amazon Great Indian Festival.

Last week, Flipkart revealed the schedule for The Big Billion Days, which will run from October 16 to October 21. The company claims that the annual sale will be its main event of the year.

Commenting on the announcement of the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale, Manish Tiwari, Vice President of Amazon India, said, "This year's Great Indian Festival is an opportunity for sellers and partners to reach millions of customers across the world. Our suppliers are excited and hope this will help them accelerate their business. "For our customers, our goal is to help them find everything they need during the holiday season and deliver it safely. "
