After almost all major social media platforms have given into the idea of disappearing photos (photos shared for a limited time), it is time now to move on to the next best thing, which is disappearing text. While Twitter has already made it a popular feature, WhatsApp may soon introduce the feature in future updates.

WhatsApp new feature: According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks the latest WhatsApp’s beta updates has re-spotted a feature that allows users to send text messages that disappear after a specified period of time. When WABetaInfo first discovered the feature, there were no user details available. However, a recent update shows that WhatsApp may be closing up until the final version of the feature.

The popup in beta update 2.20.197.4 now tells the user that if the feature is activated, the messages in this chat window will disappear after seven days.

The website has also discovered another long-awaited feature called advanced search. The latest report claims that few beta testers are getting the update, but the WhatsApp update is from the server-side. Only selected users will get the new feature.

The advanced search function allows the user to search for different types of media within the chat including GIFs, documents, images, and videos.
