It was the third group of companies and institutions in China to be added to the US blacklist, after two rounds in which the Trump administration cited 37 entities that it said were involved in China's repression in Xinjiang.
"Beijing is actively promoting the reprehensible practice of forced labor and the abusive plans for DNA collection and analysis to suppress its citizens," Commerce Minister Wilbur Ross said in a statement.
The Chinese embassy in Washington declined to comment.
In May, the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized additions to the lists of US entities and said that the United States "overstretched the concept of national security, misused export control measures, violated basic rules governing international relations and interfered in China's internal affairs. Senator Marco Rubio said the list includes two subsidiaries of the Beijing Genomics Institute, a genomics company linked to the Chinese government.
He added that the additions "will ensure that American technology will not help the Chinese Communist Party's crimes against humanity and dire human rights violations against Uyghurs and other minorities in Xinjiang, including forced DNA collection."
KTK Group Co has also been added, which produces more than 2000 products used to build high-speed trains, from electronics to seats; And Tanyuan Technology Co, which assembles high-temperature aluminum conductive aluminum composites.
Another company is Changji Esquel Textile Co, which was launched by Esquel Group in 2009. Esquel Group produces clothing for Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Hugo Boss.
In a letter to Ross on Monday, Esquel CEO John Chen asked to remove his unit from the list. “Esquel never uses forced labor, and we will never use forced labor. "We absolutely and absolutely oppose forced labor," Chen wrote.
Efforts to contact other companies in China for comments outside normal business hours failed.
Also blacklisted is Hetian Haolin Hair Accessories Co. On May 1, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said it had stopped importing the company's hair products, citing evidence of forced labor.
On July 1, Newark Customs and Border Protection confiscated a shipment containing nearly 13 tons of hair products valued at more than $ 800,000 in human hair that it said originated in Xinjiang.
