Snapchat joined the IPL 2018 bandwagon and announced its partnership with four teams. The partner IPL teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils have joined the official stories of Snapchat. Snapchat has also released a bunch of new creative tools in order to allow fans to support their favorite team using the app.

The entire list of tools have been designed for IPL 2018 fans and includes custom Stickers, Lenses and Filters. Among other tools, IPL focused Lenses will transform the users into a helmeted player with the team anthem playing in the background. The Lenses are automatically pushed in each team’s state. Users can also scan their favorite team’s Snapcode in Snapchat to start the action. The snaps created by the four partner IPL teams will be featured in the Discover section of the Snapchat app. Ben Schwerin, Vice President of Partnerships, Snapchat mentioned that they are excited about the partnership and it will allow Snapchatters to be able to catch behind the scenes action by their favorite players, cheer teams and be a part of the IPL 2018 frenzy with their family and friends. The snaps will provide fans with exclusive glimpses of the action that will not be available through any other sources.

Earlier, Hotstar had announced virtual reality streaming of the IPL matches through its digital platform. Telecom companies like Reliance Jio, Airtel and BSNL have also announced their offerings for IPL 2018 and the Airtel TV app has started offering free IPL access through Hotstar.
