Other functions that will come to WhatsApp
Voice status updates
WhatsApp is said to be working on a feature that will allow users to post voice notes as status updates. This feature was spotted in the iOS beta version of the app by WaBetaInfo. Users can upload text, photos, and videos as status updates. The above report shows that users can tap the microphone icon in the bottom right corner to record status updates.

Contact cards
WhatsApp is also developing a feature that will let users share contact cards from the native desktop client on its Windows app. Since it has been absent for some time, this functionality will make it easier for users to share contacts in chat.

Edit messages
WhatsApp has been working on the editing option for quite some time. According to a previous report, the Facebook-owned app has already begun testing the feature and may soon make it public. The Edit Message option will allow you to modify messages after they are sent, allowing you to easily correct misspellings in your messages.

WhatsApp is not the only company working to introduce an edit button. Twitter has been testing the edit button for quite some time and it is already available for its paid users.
