Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Sunday that the state government is planning to launch a pension scheme for unmarried people in the 45-60 age group in the state very soon. He also said that the government will raise the state old age pension to Rs 3,000 per month within the next six months.

"The government will take a decision on the scheme within a month," Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said in a speech addressing "Jan Samvad" at the Kalampura village of Karnal.

While responding to a pension complaint from a single 60-year-old man during 'Jan Samvad', the Prime Minister said that the government plans to introduce a new pension scheme.

The Chief Minister ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Karnal to provide internet connection to all the villages in the district.

"Currently 70-80 percent of work is done online and that is why there is a need to have internet service in the villages. Karnal will be the first district to have BSNL internet service available in all villages," the prime minister said.

Khattar planted saplings on the premises of the community centre. He also announced the construction of a model Sanskrit school in the town of Kalampura.

He directed the concerned officers to build a new Government College building and a road from Kachhwa to Kalampura within two months.

The chief Minister also announced the construction of a volleyball ground at the government school and the renovation of a pond.
