Last month, Google announced that the mobile version of Meet would have emoji reactions and 360-degree virtual backgrounds. It turns out that the IT giant is now making available for Android and iOS users its new 360-degree virtual background feature.

It looks like Google is still up and running, so it may be a while before you can use the new 360 degree virtual wallpapers on your devices. A few weeks ago, Google added a new feature to Meet that allows users to share access to the content they provide during a meeting with attendees, including those on the calendar invite list.

The newly introduced virtual 360° wallpapers use the phone's gyroscope and change dynamically depending on how you rotate or move your phone. It is really useful for those who often join video meetings or calls while on the go. However, some may find it really annoying if the person on the call is constantly moving around.

Initially, Google Meet will have some default backgrounds like beach and temple, but it looks like the developers will add more options soon. It will be interesting to see if users prefer to use the default 360-degree backgrounds instead of Meet's current set of background options, which includes blue backgrounds, effects, face filters, and blue filters.
