The Finance Ministry has released the third instalment of the Rs 7,183 crore revenue deficit grant to 14 states

The Treasury Department on Monday released the third monthly installment of the Rs 7,183 crore shortfall grant to 14 states. The 15th Finance Commission has recommended full grant of the shortfall after return of Rs 86,201 crore to 14 states for the financial year 2022-23. This will be delivered in 12 equal monthly installments.

The states that receive this scholarship are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, India Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

       

"The  Department of Expenditure on Monday released the third monthly Post Return Income Deficit Grant (PDRD) installment of Rs 7,183.42 crore to 14 states," the ministry said in a statement.

With the launch of the third installment for the month of June 2022, the total amount of revenue gap grants paid to states in 2022-2023 is Rs 21,550.25 crore.
