Google is canceling this year's I / O developer event, amid ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Google I / O was scheduled to take place from May 12 to 14 of this year and the cancellation occurs a few days after Google canceled the Cloud Next event in San Francisco for the "digital-first" event.

“CDC and health authorities issued health guidelines, In accordance, we have decided to cancel the actual Google I / O event at the Shoreline Amphitheatre ", spokesman for the Department of American State

I/O is been used by Google as the biggest news event of the year to introduce new changes to Android devices and with Google technology, and even service updates like Google Maps. Google is exploring "other ways to develop Google I / O to connect and connect with the developer community."

Google says attendees will receive a full refund before March 13, and those who bought tickets for this event will automatically receive the option to purchase a Google I / O 2021 ticket.

The cancellation of I / O by Google is the latest in a series of technical events that are being canceled due to concerns about the Coronavirus. The Mobile World Congress was canceled last month, followed by the Facebook F8 developer conference, the game developer conference and more.
