Samsung Pay ‘Rewards’ now in India; here is all you need to know

Every Samsung Pay user will get points as rewards which can be redeemed later

Samsung India has rolled out ‘Samsung Rewards’ for the users of its mobile payment service ‘Samsung Pay’ in India. The Rewards are basically points that will be added to the account anytime and anywhere users pay through Samsung Pay. It is valid for Samsung Pay Mini as well. The payment service of Samsung was launched in last March and Samsung Pay works with fingerprint authentication, card tokenization and the mobile security platform of Samsung-Samsung KNOK.

Samsung Pay users will earn the reward pointe every time they use the feature irrespective of the amount. The reward points can then be redeemed for purchasing any Samsung products and partner vouchers. The company will also organize campaigns from time to time for the users to earn ‘Accelerated Rewards’ as well as bonus points. The program has three tiers-Silver, Gold and Platinum. Based on the points accumulated, the users will automatically move up the tier. In order to use Samsung Rewards, users will have to upgrade Samsung Pay to the latest version. To use Samsung Pay, users only need to tap their Samsung smartphone on a regular card reader and then make payments; the card reader will have to be enabled with Samsung Pay support.

This program is already available for Samsung Pay users in the global market including China, South Korea, US, Singapore, Spain, Brazil, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, Russia and Puerto Rico. The company is attempting to drive user engagement and loyalty towards the platform through ‘Samsung Rewards’.
